Using its superior spatial and temporal resolution under biologically relevant conditions, scientists have determined the detailed kinetics and mechanisms of a variety of biological processes. I will review the recent progress of single-molecule techniques, including single-molecule three-color FRET, combination of optical tweezers and FRET. Current research in my lab will also be briefly discussed.
