아래와 같이 세미나를 개최하오니 많이 참석해 주시기 바랍니다.
아 래
1. 제 목: A Glimpse of X-ray Sky
2. 연 사: 홍재섭 박사(Harvard-Smithsonian Institute)
3. 일 시: 2006년11월22일(수요일) 오후 1:00~
4. 장 소: 기초과학연구소 세미나실(31317호실)
5. 초 록: About 40 years ago, X-ray Astronomy started from the first discovery of
the celestial X-ray sources, Sco X-1. Since then, X-ray sky has revealed
some of most exciting and extreme phenomena in the nature such as black
holes, neutron stars and active galactic nuclei. Thanks to great
technological achievements such as Chandra X-ray Observatory, X-ray
astronomy has now become an essential tool to unveil the secrets of the
Universe. I will review some of the history and highlights of X-ray
astronomy, and discuss upcoming future missions.
