One of the most interesting materials showing exotic phenomena is the strongly correlated electron system. They display remarkable phenomena such as metal to insulator transition, huge volume collapses, colossal magneto-resistance, and high temperature superconductivity. These materials usually contain open d- and f- electrons, and they cannot be described within the standard model of solid state physics. Over the last decade, there has been big progress in the strong correlation problem, using the Dynamical Mean Field Theory (DMFT) and its combination with the Density Functional Theory (DFT+DMFT). In this talk, I will provide our recent application of DFT+DMFT in strongly correlated system, where we explain the anomalous behavior in its spectroscopy, transport, and optical properties.
