초록: Electrochemical systems, such as batteries and fuel cells, have recently attracted considerable attention due to the strong demand for renewable energy. To optimize the systems and enhance the performance of devices, understanding of the elementary mechanisms of solid-state electrochemical processes should be required. In particular, since most of electrochemical reactions and movement of ionic species occur at the nanoscale, we need to capture local electrochemical information and ionic current at the nanometer level. Here, it is highlighted that scanning probe microscopy can provide us with unique opportunity for nanoscale probing of these kinds of systems. I will introduce the recently developed scanning probe microscope techniques; electrochemical strain microscopy (ESM) [1] and first order reversal curve (FORC) current-voltage (I-V) measurement [2], and present a few studies by these techniques. The mainly described system is Ag-ion based conductive glass as a model system of fast ionic conductor. I will address the role of chemical polarization in the generated electromechanical responses, the effect of humidity on the ionic dynamics, and other interesting phenomena.
