5. 초 록 : Although we tend to think quantum mechanics is something that is happening in an atomic,
or at least in a microscopic scale, it is not always true. The word “quantum electronics” is now widely
used for the technology of realizing solid-state electronic devices which directly utilize the quantum
mechanical nature. Superconductivity, as well as its well-known property of zero-resistance, is a
phenomenon that shows quantum coherence in a macroscopic scale. In this short talk, I will give an
introduction of quantum electronics using superconducting devices, which includes Josephson
voltage standard, SQUID, superconducting digital circuits and quantum computing research activities.
Also, research activities in KRISS are briefly reviewed for students.
