초록: In this talk, I will talk about surface impurity induced self energy in bulk on a topological insulator. Consider a layer parallel to the surface in the bulk. Even though there is no impurities present in the layer, electrons moving in the layer will feel effective impurity potential from the top surface. We investigate the behavior of the induced self energy by mapping the layer impurity potential to the Schrodinger equation along the layers. The asymptotic expression is obtained, and the behavior is compared to that of trivial insulating phase.
