아래와 같이 콜로퀴움을 개최하오니 많이 참석해 주시기 바랍니다. 아 래 1. 제목: Status and Prospects of Big Science in Korea 2. 연사: 남궁 원 교수 (포항공과대학교 물리학과) 3. 일시: 2006년 6월 9일(금요일) 오후 4시 30분 4. 장소: 물리학과 세미나실(31355호실) 5. 초록: Recent progress of the ITER Project in fusion science marks a new paradigm in the truly world- scale scientific collaboration, and it now follows the ILC project in the high-energy physics research. With the rapid advancement of science, it is an era of global facilities required for more meaningful research. Unlike the space projects, these global projects bring naturally political issues of the site- host and cost-share. Since most of efforts from the participating countries are in the form of the in-kind contributions, we have to prepare our capabilities of this kind of prerequisite to join in these collaborations. Fortunately, we have the KSTAR and PAL-XFEL projects in line with the demands on these global projects. In this paper, we are going to review the world status in the big science and our prospects in these fields.
