초록: It has long been an intriguing question since ancient time what kind of elements exist in nature. The discovery of new elements was mostly accomplished until recently by means of chemical analyses of natural materials around us. However, nowadays new element are made artificially by means of nuclear fusion reaction by using an accelerator.
The heaviest element identified so far is the Livermorium(Lv) with Z=116.
In this lecture, I introduce the recent Super Heavy Element
(SHE) search experiment placing some stress on the research performed at RIKEN.
