초록:
Reflective mode color device is one of hot issues in new technology area due to various powerful application ,such as e-paper, outdoor signage, and smart window. The urgency of achieving this is also driven by the desire to alleviate the environmental burden of producing paper from plants. Electronic paper provides the ultimate in recyclability of the medium in which words and still images are conveyed. The most important factor for successful commercialization of a reflective mode optical shutter device is the achievement of a color image similar to a photograph. Various techniques have been explored to mimic the high resolution of photograph with electronic devices, such as electrophoresis, electro-wetting, microelectromechanical (MEM) mirrors and liquid crystals. However, most of techniques have displayed poor color images and with only black and white images approaching acceptable quality being possible currently. The main reason for the poor quality of color images is assumed to be the placement of parallel color bars in the unit structure (pixel) from which they are made up. Here we will discuss the main factors of reflective mode color imaging in the point of color science with its basic principle. To improve the quality of the color the color forming layers, i.e. Cyan(C), Magenta (M), Yellow (Y) or Red (R) Green (G) Blue (B), can be stacked within the pixel structure, vertical to the direction of view . Unfortunately, this structure requires three separate drive circuits as well as complicated assembly making it impractical. To be widely adopted, it is essential that R, G, B, W, and Black (BK) can be incorporated in one pixel unit. Therefore, we will touch new technologies which have a high probability to achieve this concept, as well.
